There has been a tradition of confectionery at Knonauerstrasse 3 in Cham since 1890, and this has been cultivated by the von Rotz family since 1978. Aline and Arnold von Rotz handed over their typical local bakery and confectioner’s shop to their son Roger and his wife Andrea in 1997.

The business the couple took over was small, with just seven employees – but their many dreams and ideas were on an altogether grander scale. The wind of change soon started to blow through the Cham bakery, carrying the aroma of freshly baked bread beyond the borders of the village.

The business flourished in every area. Consistently focusing on a broad, innovative range of products, meticulous workmanship and friendly service resulted in a continuously growing number of customers, products and staff.

Over the next few years, subsidiaries with cafés in Steinhausen, Rotkreuz and Küssnacht am Rigi turned the former village confectioner’s shop into a well-known and much appreciated purveyor of deliciously enjoyable delicacies throughout the region.

Today, together with their production and sales managers and more than 100 employees, owners Andrea and Roger von Rotz create authentically delicious products each day. There is no lack of fresh ideas for the future: there are plans to build a state-of-the art bakery, which will give customers a thorough insight into production and enable them to experience at first hand how "authentically delicious" products are created.

The bakery will also demonstrate how fresh daily production makes it possible to achieve incomparable experiences for the taste buds.
